Christine Marshall

Christine Louise Marshall has been working with Mad Horse since 1995, and served as Artistic Director from 2008-2018. She has directed, designed, and acted in numerous productions over the years. She has also been a teacher and company member at Maine State Ballet for 22 years. She narrates The New Yorker's audio edition, and has narrated more than a hundred audiobook titles. She works in an acting, directing and design capacity on many Maine-produced, plays, films and commercials, recently having directed her first film effort, PEPPERCORN HEART, which has been screened in several festivals already, after its debut in Maine's DAMNATIONLAND film festival. She has co-written and directed several PortFringe productions, including the DAVE & CHRISSY series, as well as HOW DARE YOU, SIR: A GENTLEMEN'S PANEL OF ROCK. Before moving home to Maine, Christine helped to found the Riverside Arts Center in Ypsilanti Michigan, as well as producing several productions there, including the award-winning WILHELM REICH IN HELL. She has a degree in Theatre from Skidmore College. She is proud to be a part of the vibrant performing arts community of Maine. She lives in South Portland, within sight of the Hutchins School, with her husband Michael, who makes her life worthwhile.
